It's a well known fact that many Hollywood stars, looking to make some quick dough maximize the return on their brand, go and do commercials abroad.Nicolas Cage is no exception and his chosen car, for China, is the ShenBao by BAIC Motor (Beijing Automotive Group). The car is based on the 1st gen 9-5 and is otherwise totally unremarkable.
It's a fairly standard, pre-irony car commercial, with some chasing, some stunting, and lots of Nicolas Cage. And since this is China, in the end, everybody's friends and reeling in the harmony of those 5000 years of culture.

"And he shifts in to 4th. And Nic Cage shifts into 4th again!" Plus it is an auto. . . why he do dis?
What is going in this commercial btw. . . like what is the point.

That was kind of hilarious...but why Qi Gong? Qi Gong or Chi Kung (depending on the pronunciation) is a meditative practice, think Tai Chi with static positions.

At one point they flip the cars on two wheels and drive like nothing is wrong. It kind of reminded me of a "trick" a friend of mine does where he'll just stand on one leg with his body parallel to the ground. There's this whole group of westerners here in Beiijing that are totally into that stuff: they dress like David Caradine, go join a sunrise Qi Gong group at the temple of heaven on sundays... interesting but not for me.
I always try to find a catchy title for these posts, and Kung Fu was too cliche, Wu Shu too obscure etc.
